Guido Cozzi

Guido Cozzi – PhD New York University – has been a Full Professor of Macroeconomics at the School of Economics and Political Science since October 2012. Before that, he worked at Durham University, University of Glasgow, University of Rome “La Sapienza”, Cornell University, etc.

Cozzi’s research focuses on macroeconomics, economic growth, economic dynamics, political economy, and innovation. Recently, he has been developing medium-scale macroeconomic models integrating growth and business cycles. In addition, he is lead the construction of the world ranking of the quality of elites.

He has been granted several research grants and has advised important institutions, including the European Commission.
He has published in top scientific journals, including the Journal of Political Economy, the American Economic Review, the Review of Economics and Statistics, the Journal of Economic Growth, the Journal of the European Economic Association, the Economic Journal, the Journal of International Economics, etc.

He regularly gives interviews on several broadcasters, including BBC World and Class CNBC – on relevant topics ranging from macroeconomic issues to Covid vaccines.
Recently, Guido Cozzi conducted ambitious interdisciplinary research that ranked the elites that govern the economy in 151 countries. The report on the ranking attracted massive international media attention.
